It has a 5.5-inch HD screen and a lasting 3,000mAh battery. The decision to include a 3GB RAM phone in this list is due to Note 3's affordable pricing and attractive features.

Lenovo K3 Note

One of the bestselling devices of 2015, Lenovo K3 Note was picked by millions of customers throughout the year. At Rs 9,999, the handset offers a 5.5-inch Full-HD screen, 13MP primary camera, 5MP front-snapper and a 3,000mAh battery. It is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6752 processor, 2GB RAM and offers 16GB expandable memory.

Asus Zenfone 2 Laser

Another key player in the sub-Rs 10,000 price range in 2015 was Asus Zenfone 2 Laser, which comes with great camera, battery and performance. Priced at Rs 9,999, Zenfone 2 Laser features a 5.5-inch HD screen with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, 1 2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable memory. Meizu had a striking appeal in the budget smartphone space with its attractive design and premium features. At Rs 9,999, Meizu M2 Note offers a 5.5-inch Full-HD screen, 13MP primary camera with dual LED flash, 5MP front-snapper and a 3,100mAh battery. It comes with a 1,3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable memory.

Xioami Redmi 2 Prime

Xiaomi upgraded its Redmi 2 smartphone to double RAM space and offer better performance. At Rs 6,999, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime comes with a 4.7-inch HD display, 8MP primary camera with LED flash, 2MP front snapper and a 2,200mAh battery. In addition to 2GB RAM, the Redmi 2 Prime comes with 16GB expandable storage and a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor. Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime with its comparatively lower specs sells for Rs 6,999.

Huawei Honor 4X

Huawei Honor 4X is also a notable addition in the sub-Rs 10,000 smartphone list. It features a 5-inch HD display, 2GHz Snapdragon 410 SoC, 2GB RAM and 8GB expandable memory. The handset offers a 13MP primary camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-snapper. Powering the phone up is a 3,000mAh battery. Honor 4X sells for Rs 9,999 in India.

YU Yureka Plus

YU's presence in the affordable smartphone segment is notable as it offers a small yet competitive range of devices. YU Yureka Plus is one of the sub-Rs 10,000 devices launched in India in 2015 that received a lot of praise from fans and critics. At Rs 8,999, Yureka Plus comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 13MP primary camera with LED flash, 5MP secondary snapper and a 2,500mAh battery. The handset is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB RAM and has 16GB expandable memory.
