New smartphones are always a welcome, as consumers are constantly looking to upgrade their phones. Taking advantage of the demand, manufacturers are offering a wide range of options by releasing new models on a regular basis, giving them an edge over rivals and building a healthy competition, which in the end benefits consumers.

The past few months, we witnessed some of the biggest releases in the smartphone industry. Flagships such as Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Sony Xperia Z5 and Premium, and others took the market by storm. But the chain of launches seems to be continuing, as major firms have new releases lined up in November.

Samsung Galaxy On7 and Galaxy On5

Korean tech giant Samsung is holding a launch event in New Delhi on 3 November, where it is expected to launch the rumoured Galaxy On7 and Galaxy On5 smartphones in India. The two handsets have been in the news for quite some time now, and are ready to tap into the budget-range smartphone market.

The Galaxy On7 is said to feature a 5.5-inch HD display, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front snapper, 3,000mAh battery and dual-SIM 4G LTE support. The handset will run Android 5.1 Lollipop, alongside Exynos 3475 quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM. It will offer 8GB onboard storage with microSD card support for up to 128GB.

The Galaxy On5 is expected to be a lower-end variant with key differences being a smaller 5-inch display, 8MP primary camera and a 2,600mAh battery.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro

A recent leak has strongly hinted that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 2 Pro in November, as the device has already passed China's 3C certification. There have been rumours about the device, but the manufacturer has remained mum on the subject.

From what we have learnt so far, the Redmi Note 2 Pro will sport a metal back with fingerprint scanner just below the camera module. It will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, 5MP front snapper, 3,060mAh battery and a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795 SoC with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 2GB RAM. The device will offer 32GB internal storage with an option to add extra memory using microSD cards and run Google's Android 5.1 Lollipop-based MIUI 7.

Xiaomi Mi 5

Xiaomi is already past the due time for an annual flagship upgrade. The Mi 4 smartphone was released in August 2014, hinting that the Mi 5 release to happen somewhere around the same time. Sadly, we heard nothing of the 2015 flagship except that it was not set for launch on 19 October.

The rumour mill hasn't stopped spinning, with leaked details about the Mi 5 smartphone. As for the specs, we expect the Xiaomi Mi 5 to sport a 5.3-inch QHD display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 4, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and a 3,030mAh battery. The handset will either use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset or MediaTek Helio X20 SoC, coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage. Mi 5 is also said to feature a 16MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP front snapper.

A recent report found that Xiaomi dropped the price of its Mi 4 smartphone, hinting at the nearing launch of Mi 5, which is expected to happen sometime this month. We may not be surprised if Xiaomi decides to launch both the Mi 5 and the Redmi Note 2 Pro on the same day.

Apple Watch

After Apple Watch's international launch, the luxury wearable smartwatch is set to enter the Indian market in November. Apple Watch's India debut is confirmed, as the company's official India page was updated with the availability date on 6 November. The pricing of Apple Watch variants is still a mystery, but rumours suggest the 38mm case will start at Rs 36,999 while the 42mm case will start from Rs 42,199. The high-end variant of the Apple Watch is expected to cost around Rs 14 lakh.

Apple iPad Pro

Apple unveiled its iPad Pro alongside the iPhone 6S series in September, but the global availability of the 12.9-inch tablet remained unknown, until now. According to a new report, the new iPad series will be available in stores later this month, just in time for the holidays. Narrowing down the specifics, 9to5Mac said the iPad Pro would be released on 11 November in all three colours — silver, gold and space gray — and both 32GB and 128GB storage variants.
