August 2015 remained an eventful month for smartphone enthusiasts in the country, with several anticipated phones across all price segments being launched.

Though the Indian consumers eye the budget smartphone category the most, but the mid-budget category saw the arrival of numerous devices that look impressive too.

Here are the top 15 smartphones launched in August 2015:

OnePlus 2

OnePlus finally launched its much anticipated phone, dubbed as OnePlus 2, this month. OnePlus 2 has added a fingerprint sensor, hardware notification switch, LPDDR4 RAM, Gorilla Glass 4 protection, better camera and Android 5.1.1 powered home baked OS Oxygen 2.0. OnePlus 2 also looks better and more elegant for its metallic frame.

Powered by Snapdragon 810 SoC, OnePlus 2 packs a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB storage and 5.5-inch Full HD display overlaid with Gorilla Glass 4 for added protection. The camera sensors featured in OnePlus 2 are quick to focus and captures 1/3rd bigger images than typical 13MP camera.

Meizu MX5

Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has also launched its mid-budget smartphone MX5 in India. The device boasts a 5.5-inch, 1080 x 1920 pixels, 401PPI display and come powered by MediaTek MT6795 octa-core processor and is backed by 3GB RAM. Available in 16, 32 and 64GB storage variants, MX5 houses a 20.7MP rear and a 5MP front snapper.

The 16GB edition is available in India exclusively through Snapdeal.com for Rs. 19,999.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is actually the bigger variant of its predecessor Galaxy S6 Edge with a few modest changes. Galaxy S6 Edge+ retains the same Exynos 7420 SoC, but extended the RAM to 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and is available in both 32GB and 64GB storage variants. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for added protection.

Powered by a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery, Galaxy S6 Edge+ features a 16MP + 5MP camera combination. Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ will be available across online and offline in two colour variants -- gold platinum and all-new silver titanium -- with 32GB memory for Rs 57,900.

Sony Xperia C5 Ultra

Sony Xperia C5 Ultra boasts a 6-inch full HD display and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Powered by an octa-core 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6752 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage expandable up to 200GB. The device also comes with two 13MP camera on both the sides and come powered by a 2,930mAh battery. It is now available in through all the major online and offline stores for Rs. 29,990.

ASUS Zenfone Selfie, Zenfone 2 Laser, ZenFone 2 Deluxe

This month, ASUS launched a plethora of devices across various price ranges. The company of the ZenFone 2 fame has launched Zenfone 2 Laser, ZenFone 2 Deluxe, ZenFone Selfie, ZenFone Max and ZenFone 2 Deluxe.

ZenFone 2 Laser is a budget device focused on the budget-conscious camera loving consumers by featuring a Laser autofocus, which is usually visible in flagship devices like LG G4 and G3. Apart from that, the device comes with Snapdragon 410 SoC, 2GB/ 3GB RAM and 16GB/ 32GB storage. The device comes in two screen variants -- 5.5-inch/ 6-inch -- and available for Rs. 9,999, 13,999 and 17,999.

ZenFone Selfie is a budget device for selfie-loving consumers. Under the hood, it packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 614 SoC, 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage. The device packs two 13MP cameras on both the ends and is available for Rs. 15,999.

ZenFone 2 Deluxe is another variant of its flagship device ZE551ML with more storage. The device packs 64GB storage with 4GB RAM and an Intel Z3580 processor. It is available for Rs. 22,999.

Meizu M2 Note

Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has launched its second device in India. Available for Rs. 9,999, the Meizu M2 Note will be available from 10th August onwards exclusively at Amazon.in. For the price, Meizu M2 Note packs a 5.5-inch 1080P display, MediaTek MT6573 octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and a 3,100mAh battery. Running on Android 5.1 Lollipop overlaid with Flyme 4.5, Meizu M2 Note features 13MP+5MP camera combination and comes in 16GB and 32GB storage variants.

Panasonic Eluga Icon

Another budget smartphone from Panasonic with a 5.5-inch 720P display, MediaTek MT6752 SoC, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage with expandability support. Packing a 13MP + 8MP camera combination, the device comes powered by a 3,500 mAh battery and isavailable for Rs. 10,999 through major online stores, including Amazon.in and Flipkart.com.

OPPO Mirror 5

Oppo Mirror 5 is a mid-budget device made for the fashion-conscious consumers. With a diaomind-like reflective surface, the device packs a Snapdragon 410 SoC backed by 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM. Dubbed Auxus Prime P8000, the device features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 64-bit 1.3GHz MediaTek MT7653 octa-core processor, 13MP + 5MP camera combo and 16GB onboard memory. The Auxus Prime P8000 is available for Rs. 14,990 exclusively through Snapdeal.com.

LAVA X1 Selfie

LAVA X1 Selfie, as the name suggests, is another selfie-focused phone for the budget consumers. The device packs a 8MP rear snapper and a 5MP front lens with an LED flash on the front. Priced at Rs. 6,777, LAVA X1 Selfie houses 1.3GHz quad-core processors, 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM and a 2,000 mAh battery.
