Tizen powered Samsung Z3 launched in India; price, specifications

Samsung Z3 will hit stores next week across all Samsung's brick-and-mortar retail stores in India.

Samsung has launched the new Tizen OS powered Z3 series smartphone in India.

"The launch of Samsung Z3 re-emphasizes India's significance as a key centre for innovation and development on the Tizen operating system, with India being the first country to globally launch the Z3," said H.C Hong, president and CEO, Samsung India Electronics.

"We were encouraged by the huge popularity of Samsung Z1, the first Tizen OS powered smartphone that sold over one million units within six months of its launch earlier this year," he added.

The new Samsung Z3 sports 5.0-inch super AMOLED display and comes packed with 1.3GHz Spreadtrum CPU backed by 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory and 2600 mAh battery.

A key aspect of Samsung Z3 is that it runs on the company's proprietary Tizen v2.4 OS. It comes pre-loaded with value-added features such as My Galaxy, Mix Radio, Ultra Data and Power Saving modes, Special Days UX and Enhanced Messaging and other features which are specifically made with Indian consumers in mind.

Another note-worthy feature is the Ultra Data Saving mode, which comes with data compression and app management capabilities to help users save up to 40% mobile data and up to 50% longer standby time.

The company has confirmed that the new Samsung Z3 will be made available across India for â‚¹8,490. Snapdeal has been roped in as the exclusive online seller in India.
