Guwahati, Aug 27 (ANI): Thousands of members of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) of Assam protested against the government for denying land rights to people living in the hilly regions and wet lands of the state and giving land to corporate houses instead. State Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had announced on August 13, during the state assembly session, that the government would not give land rights to the residents of the region but to multi-national companies, corporates and other people as a means to earn more money. Taking out a mass rally in Guwahati city, the protesters shouted slogans and marched demanding an immediate repeal of the decision.
