"Today we have promised each other to be bound in love for ever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well wishers. Kohli's India team-mates too used the social media platforms to convey their best wishes to the married couple.

Far away from India, Kohli's friend and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team-mate AB de Villiers has now sent in his wishes via a video on his app.

The South African superstar admitted that he was surprised by the news of Kohli-Anushka wedding. He hoped that the pair have "many kids".

"Congratulations to Virat and Anushka for getting married. Took me by surprise. But I always knew who had a surprise up your sleeve. So, congrats to my good friend Virat, and Anushka. I know you guys are going to have a very happy life together and hopefully many kids to come," De Villiers said.

Both Kohli and De Villiers have mutual respect for each other. They have played some memorable knocks together for RCB in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The two friends will be on the opposite sides soon as India and South Africa face off in three Tests, six ODIs and six T20Is starting from January 5, 2018 in Cape Town.
