The release of Apple's iPhone 8 may still be months away, but a screen guard for the upcoming smartphone is already available for purchase. A UK website has listed an "Olixar iPhone 8 Full Cover Tempered Glass Screen Protector" for pre-order, claiming that the accessory will fit the new iPhone perfectly.

The screen protector, which is listed with a price tag of $31.99, appears to be in line with ongoing rumours that the iPhone 8 will feature an edge-to-edge display, which will be slightly interrupted at the top to incorporate the dual front-facing cameras, sensors and the earpiece.

"This ultra-thin full cover curved tempered glass screen protector for the iPhone 8 from Olixar offers toughness, high visibility and sensitivity all in one package. Features complete edge to edge screen protection for black phones," reads the product description on the MobileFun website.

The iPhone 8, Apple's 10th anniversary flagship smartphone, is highly expected to sport an overhauled design language and many other new features. Since Apple has not made anything official about the device so far, it's really confusing to see a screen protector for the phone already making an appearance online.

However, the accessory does correspond to what many leaks have shared about the next-generation iPhone over the last few months. According to the product description, the screen guard is 3D Touch compatible, and is also designed for an edge-to-edge display, which is one of the most speculated features of the iPhone 8.

"With the iPhone's awesome 3D touch capability, it's important to have a screen protector that will not hinder this function. Well, rest assured that not only will this screen protector allow you to use 3D touch as you would normally but regular touchscreen accuracy is also unaffected," reads the product description.

In addition, the alleged iPhone 8 screen protector also apparently fits with the recently leaked images of the front and back panels of the next iPhone. The panels also suggested that the 2017 iPhone model would feature a bezel-less display with a housing bar at the top.

Rumours are rife that Apple will announce three iPhones at an event in September. The iPhone 7s (4.7-inch) and iPhone 7s Plus (5.5-inch) with LCD screens are expected to be released immediately after the announcement while the iPhone 8, with a 5.8-inch OLED screen with embedded TouchID fingerprint sensor, could be made available later this year.
