Vineeth Sreenivasan has confirmed that he will soon begin shooting for "Thira" second part, laying to rest speculations about it. The young film maker added that actress Shobhana will star in the sequel and ruled out his brother Dhyan for the movie.

"I am currently shooting for 'Kunjiramayanam' directed by Basil Joseph, who has been my associate in my films. After this movie, I will begin scripting for my next movie... The story of the movie is family based and therefore the star cast of this film will be different from my usual films. Soon after this, I would kick start with 'Thira' second part which will star Shobhana but Dhyan will not be part of it" Vineeth told Manorama Online in an interview.

Dhyan is currently shooting for comedy movie "Kunjiramayanam" along with Vineeth and Aju Varghese.

Vineeth had earlier revealed that "Thira" is the first of a trilogy thiller series. He also added that the second part will have a popular actor of Malayalam as lead and he himself will act in the third one.

There were rumours that Dulquer Salmaan will lead in the second part. However, there is no confirmation about it.

It was Vineeth who introduced Dhyan as a lead actor in his 2013 directorial venture "Thira", a thriller that also had Shobhana in the lead. It received positive reviews and was one of the top hits of the year.

In "Thira", Dhyan played the character of Naveen whose sister is kidnapped in front of him by a gang of human traffickers. Along with Dr Rohini Pranab (Shobhana), he embarks on a mission to track down the culprits and save his sister. The young talent received the Asianet Film Award for the Best Debut Actor and Shibahana won the Vanitha Award for Best Actress.
