British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who recently visited India, will make his Bollywood debut in the sequel of Farah Khan's blockbuster movie "Happy New Year" starring Shah Rukh Khan.

The "Thinking Out Loud" hitmaker was seen attending Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's party for newly-wed couple Kunal Kapoor and Naina Bachchan.

Ed, who posed with Abhishek and Farah, has agreed to make his acting debut in the "Happy New Year" director's movie, Mirror.co.uk reported.

Farah revealed that Ed wanted to meet her and her Bollywood friend.

"It was a surprise when my cousin Zubin called me from London to say that Ed Sheeran was going to be in town and wanted to meet up with me and my Bollywood friends. It was very gracious of Abhishek to let me bring Ed and his team to his home for a party," Farah told Mirror.

"Not only did Ed hit it off with Abhishek, but before I left, they both also decided that Ed would act in Happy New Year 2," she confirmed.

"Happy New Year", was Farah's blockbuster directorial film, which was released last year. The 200 crore grosser musical heist drama featured Shah Rukh, Abhishek, Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah and Boman Irani in lead roles.
