The film unit of Ajith's forthcoming movie, which is presently being referred to as "Thala 57" or "AK 57," has reportedly returned to Chennai after a month long schedule in Europe. The team has shot some important scenes in the first phase of the shooting schedule.

Reports say that the "Thala 57" unit will be taking a short break before moving on to its next schedule. The team is expected to begin the next schedule of the shooting in two weeks time.

While some reports say that the next schedule will commence in Chennai, a few claim that it will begin in the United States. Nonetheless, the "Thala 57" will be flying to the United Kingdom again as a major part of the story is set in the country.

The shooting of "Thala 57" started in the first week of August. The initial reports had claimed that it will be a 40-day schedule. But it now appears like the plans have undergone changes with the unit returning to Chennai 10 days early. The movie was launched in July and the makers want to release the movie in April 2017.

It is a spy-thriller majorly shot in the beautiful locales of Europe. "Thala 57" is the third movie of Ajith to be directed by Siruthai Siva. They had first worked together in "Veeram." Following the success of the movie, they teamed up again in "Vedalam," which turned out to be the biggest hit of 2015. The upcoming movie is bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films.

Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music, while Vetri is reportedly handling cinematography and Anthony Ruben is the editor of "Thala 57."
