Its celebration time for Ajith fans, as the shooting of the most-awaited "Thala 56" is set to kick-start soon. Latest reports suggest Ajith will start the shooting on 20 April.

If reports are to be believed, the cast and crew of the movie has completed the pre-production and the only thing now left is for the movie to take off. Earlier, there were reports that the shooting of the film would start on the auspicious Tamil New Year Day, which falls on 14 April. But now it looks like the makers have chosen a less-chaotic day to commence shooting.

Ajith had taken a break from films after the release of his movie "Yennai Arindhaal" as he chose to spend time with his family. The actor was recently blessed with a baby boy, much to the delight of his fans.

"Thala56" will be directed by Siruthai Siva, who made headlines recently with its pooja function which was a low-key affair held on 9 April.

Siruthai Siva had previously directed Ajith's 2014 movie "Veeram" which was a huge box office hit. "Thala56" is reportedly a metro-centric flick where Ajith will be seen in a completely new look. The movie will see Shruthi Haasan as the lead opposite "Thala" for the first time.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the movie has two heroines but the makers of the movie are tight-lipped about the rest of the cast. Rumours also suggest that Thamabi Ramaiah and Santhanam are also part of the project.

The music of the upcoming movie will be done by young music sensation Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography will be handled by Vetri and editing by Antony L Ruben.

The movie reportedly will have lot of action sequences for which the makers have roped in Stunt Silva. Silva had earlier worked with Ajith for "Mankatha", "Veeram" and "Yennai Arindhaal".

"Thala 56" is being produced by AM Rathnam, who bankrolled the actor's "Arrambam" and "Yennai Arindhaal".
