A serial bomb blast by suspected Muslim insurgents hit Thailand's Yala province on Saturday, killing at least eight people and injuring 70 others.

The triple blasts happened when shoppers were gathering for lunch. Yala Governor Dethrat Simsiri said that all the blasts occurred within a 100-metre radius. He added that they not sure which Muslim insurgent is behind the act.

It is reported that the first bomb was hidden in a motorcycle outside a shop while the second and the third bombs were detonated while the authorities were off to check the first blast.
