With the English Premier League new season having started and a few games been played, several clubs are frantically trying to sign their favourite players before the transfer window closes on Aug 31 to balance their teams.

The Premier League has witnessed transfers of many big names like Robin van Persie, Fernando Torres, Alex Song, Eden Hazard, Oscar Dos Santos and several others this year and they have made their presence felt in the games played till date.

Theo Walcott: With the talks between Arsenal and the England footballer for signing a new contract leading nowhere, Theo Walcott is very likely to leave the club before the transfer window closes. He may join Manchester City or Liverpool; they have shown interest in signing him.

Hulk: Givanildo Vieira de Souza aka Hulk has espressed his desire to join a top club but Porto is not willing to part with him. The club had earlier refused £30 million bid from Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris-Saint Germain. The latest we heard is that Chelsea will have to raise the bid to £39.5 million following Zenit Saint Petersburg's surprise offer.

Michael Essien: Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien is likely to join Fenerbahce. It is reported that the Turkish club has offered £8million for Essien.

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa: France defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, who captained Montpellier, has two big clubs showing interest in signing him. It is said that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been keeping an eye on him for a long time. However, Chelsea had reportedly gone ahead by sending scouts to observe his play in his last match.

Wayne Rooney: The English striker had expressed his desire to leave Manchester United last year but didn't leave the team. This time rumours are doing the rounds that he might be shown the doors by manager Sir Alex Ferguson. However, neither Manchester United nor Rooney, who is likely to be kept out of action following a thigh injury, have spoken of a transfer.

Andre Schurrle: Chelsea had offered £16 million for German striker Andre Schurrle but Bayer Leverkusen turned down the offer. Reports are doing the rounds that the defending European Champions might make a bigger offer for Schurrle.

Liam Moore: Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly interested in signing Leicester City's centre-half Liam Moore before the transfer window closes and sent his scout to watch him play during the weekend.

Yohan Cabaye: Arsenal is reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye. It is reported that manager Arsene Wenger is also targeting Yann M'Vila.

Daniele de Rossi: Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is said to be keen on signing Italian midfielder and AC Roma star Daniele de Rossi before the transfer deadline of August 31.

Daniel Sturridge: Liverpool and Tottenham have shown interest on England striker Daniel Sturridge. However, The Sun reported that Chelsea have put a £25million price tag on the striker.
