In "Vellimoonga", Biju plays as politician Mamachen, who will be seen speaking Kanjirapally slang. The story revolves around the middle aged unmarried politician, who mixes politics with personal life.
"The film is not a political drama but a family entertainer set in a small village in Kannur. The title refers to a rare species of owl and it relates to the film's lead character. The story revolves around the life of a 42-year-old, unmarried politician, who mixes politics with his personal life. He deals everything in his life in a political way," said the script writer Joji Thomas to The Times of India.
The film is told in the background of an election and some mysterious situations surrounding it. Aju Varghese will be seen as Mamachen's close aide and partner in crimes.
Mamachen, who is in search of a life partner comes across Nikki Galrani, who plays the role of a nurse in the film.
The film also has Lena, Tini Tom, Kalabhavan Shajon, Siddique, Anu Joseph, Sunil Sugatha and Sashi Kalinga in main roles. Asif Ali will also appear in an important role.
