Chinese telecommunication major TCL Corporation has launched a brand new smartphone dubbed as Pride T500L in India.
The key feature of TCL Pride T500L is its advanced bio-metric technology used for unlocking the phone. The company claims that the 8MP camera mounted at the front can scan device owner's Eye (Iris) to authenticate in order to bypass the lockscreen.
How the Iris Scanner work?
'Iris Recognition' is said to be more advanced and near-foolproof system as it involves camera technology with subtle infrared illuminations to capture the detailed nerve pattern on the iris (eye).
Using this information, digital impressions are created by mathematical and statistical algorithm so that accurate profile is created. This biometric technology is nearly impossible to be cracked by an imposter, unlike finger-print scanner that can be bypassed with a fake thumb print.
Other noteworthy features of TCL Pride T500L include 5.0-inch full HD display, 2.5GHz Octa-core SoC (System on Chip), 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, 13MP camera on the rear-side and 3050 mAh battery.
