It is probably one of the worst-kept secrets that Tata Motors is readying a compact sedan based on Zica, and the model is expected to get its first premiere at the Auto Expo 2016. Tata has been testing its compact sedan, popularly known as Kite, on Indian roads for quite a while now.

Now, ahead of its expected debut at the Auto Expo in February 2016, the Kite compact sedan has been snapped once again, adding to the long list of spy shots of the model before its official unveiling. Snapped by a member of Team BHP forum, the latest spy shots show the test mule under camouflage.

The Tata Kite compact sedan, which is supposedly referred to as Sway, is based on the copiously-tweaked Xo platform. From a visual stand, the Kite sedan is expected to get a front fascia similar to Zica, and the side profile and is likely to get tweaked rear and side profiles.

Under the hood, the Kite sedan is likely to use the same powertrains of the Zica, including a 1.2-litre three-cylinder DOHC aluminum motor and a 1.0-litre three-cylinder diesel engine. While the petrol engine is tuned to dish out 83.8bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm, the diesel mill is capable of putting out 69bhp of power 4,000 rpm and 140Nm of torque between 1,800 rpm and 3,000 rpm.

As for features, expect the Zica compact sedan to house features like Harman infotainment system with eight speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, dual airbags, ABS, steering-mounted audio controls, electrically adjustable ORVMs and voice command.

Tata Zica sedan aka Sway will rival Honda Amaze, Maruti DZire, Ford Figo Aspire and Hyundai Xcent in India once launched.
