Tata Motors is expected to pull the wraps off its new Kite hatchback in India in the coming weeks. Now, ahead of its possible launch in the country, the Kite has been spotted in testing, adding to the long list of spy shots of the model.

Set to replace Tata's ageing Indica, Tata Kite is expected to sport new styling and design both inside and outside. The rumours on the web indicate the global unveiling of the Kite will take place in the first week of December, with the launch in India scheduled to happen sometime in January 2016. The latest set spy shots of Kite, which has been caught on camera countless times, came from a Team BHP forum member.

Underpinning Indica's X0 platform, Tata Kite is likely to include a new 1.05-litre three-cylinder common-rail diesel motor that can churn out 64.1bhp and 140Nm of torque, and an all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine. The Kite is also speculated to have an AMT variant in India.

To be pitted against Maruti Celerio and Hyundai Grand i10 in India, Tata Kite is likely to get a price tag starting from Rs 3.6 lakh. Tata will also launch the compact sedan based on the same platform of the Kite hatchback in the country early next year.
