The work on the upcoming Tiago sedan seems to be progressing rapidly and the sedan codenamed Kite 5 is expected to hit the assembly lines at Tata Motors' Sanand plant in Gujarat soon. The Kite 5, the compact sedan based on Tata's popular hatchback Tiago, has become a common sighting in the country since its unveiling at the Auto Expo 2016 and the model has been caught on camera countless times.

Now a fresh batch of images of the Kite 5 from ThrustZone has hit the web. Tata is believed to be putting the upcoming model through its final testing and in the images, the compact sedan is seen in its completely camouflaged avatar. The kite 5, which will be pitched against Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo and Ford Figo Aspire in India, is expected to be launched during the festive season this year.

Under the hood, the Kite 5 will come packed with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol and 1.05-litre three-cylinder diesel motors. While the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine will churn out 83.8bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm, the all-new 1.05-litre, three-cylinder turbo-charged diesel engine will develop 69bhp of power and 140Nm of torque. Both engines will be available with multi-drive modes — Eco and City.

In terms of dimensions, the compact sedan measure 3,995mm in length, 1,647mm in width and 1,535mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. The Kite 5 will come with safety features that include dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Corner Stability Control (CSC).
