Tata Motors' upcoming compact sedan codenamed Kite 5 is believed to be undergoing its final test runs in the country. The Kite 5, which was previewed at the Auto Expo 2016 in February, is expected to take to the roads during the festive season this year.

Ahead of its official launch in the country, here comes a new set of spy shots of the Kite 5 from Team BHP. From the images, what is clearly seen is the orange body shade of the Kite 5. The Tiago is also offered in this sunburst orange colour. Previous spy shots had shown the Kite 5 in blue exterior-body shade.

To be offered in both petrol and diesel options in India, the Kite 5 is rumoured to be named Canvas, Dribble or Ingrid. Powering the Tata sedan will be 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol and 1.05-litre three-cylinder diesel motors. While the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine will churn out 83.8bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm, the all-new 1.05-litre, three-cylinder turbo-charged diesel engine will develop 69bhp of power and 140Nm of torque. Both engines will be available with multi-drive modes — Eco and City.

In terms of dimensions, the Kite 5 measures 3,995mm in length, 1,647mm in width and 1,535mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. It is said to be in its final stages of entering production ahead of its possible launch in India soon and when launched, will rival Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo and Ford Figo Aspire in the domestic market.
