Tata Hexa is essentially a facelift of the Aria. However, the company has copiously reworked on design, features and powertrains with the inputs from its British subsidiary Land Rover.

On design, Hexa will feature honeycomb-grille with chrome "Humanity Line". The vehicle will also come with projector head-lamps, and LED daytime running lights, integrated spoiler and roof rails.

The interior will be spruced up with leather-covered captain seats. The seats will have integrated arm-rest. A three-spoke steering wheel, LED illumination and mood lighting will be standard additions.

Hexa will be powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder VARICOR diesel engine, which is tuned to generate 154bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,700 to 2,700rpm.

The engine will be mated to the choice of either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission in question is rumoured to be an AMT unit.

The SUV will come with four driving modes -- Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.

Hexa will be packed with a 5-inch TFT touch-screen infotainment system from Harman, compatible with USB, iPod, SD card, Aux and Bluetooth audio.

It will boast of six airbags, anti-lock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD) brake assist, and traction control system on safety front.

The SUV will measure 4,764mm in length, 1,895mm in width, 1,780mm of height and 2,850mm of ground clearance.

Being the flagship model, Hexa will get a price tag between Rs 15 to 20 lakh, ex-showroom.
