Following the brutal assault on a Tanzanian woman in Bangalore, several Bollywood celebrities reacted to the incident. Many stars took to Twitter and condemned the shameful incident.

One 21-year-old Tanzanian girl was beaten, stripped and paraded naked by a mob on Sunday night in Bangalore's Hesaraghatta area. The woman, who is a student at Acharya College, was travelling in a car when an angry mob stopped the car, dragged her out and assaulted her. Four other persons in the car were also beaten and the car was set on fire.

The incident happened in reaction to a hit and run case in the same area that involved a Sudanese national. One woman was killed in the accident, following which the driver was thrashed by the mob. After around 30 minutes of the accident, the Tanzanian girl along with her friends was crossing the same area in their car. Although she and the other persons in the car did not have any connection with the accident, the mob assaulted them and made the girl parade naked.

It was also reported that the entire incident happened in front of some policemen but they did not intervene. Moreover, police allegedly refused to file a complaint when the victim went to file an FIR.

While the incident happened on Sunday night, it was first reported on Tuesday and soon the news became viral. Twitter was flooded with comments condemning the incident. Joining the bandwagon, several Bollywood stars also called the incident "shameful". Stars like Farhan Akhtar, who runs an organisation called "Men Against Rape and Discrimination" (MARD), Hrithik Roshan, Ritesh Sidhwani, among others, took to Twitter and criticised the horrifying incident.
