Bollywood movie "Tamasha" has turned out to be another big money spinner at the overseas box office in 2015, but it has failed be the first weekend record of Ranbir Kapoor's "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" (YJHD).

Ranbir's last blockbuster film "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" was released in around 500 cinema halls in the key international markets like US, UK, UAE, Australia and New Zealand. The movie has collected $3.9 million (Rs. 22.10 crore) at the overseas box office in the first weekend. It has been the actor's biggest opener and highest grosser in the opening weekend in the foreign markets.

Ranbir Kapoor's latest outing "Tamasha" has been released in 571 theatres across the key international markets. Since it is released more number of screens, the film was expected to shatter all the opening weekend records of "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" at the overseas box office.

But the Imtiaz Ali-directed-romantic comedy film has failed to smash the records of "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani". "Tamasha" has collected $3.45 million (Rs 23 crore) at the overseas box office in the first weekend. Bollywood trade expert tweeted, "#Tamasha Overseas total [till Sunday]: $ 3.45 million [₹ 23 cr]."

"Tamasha" has turned out to be the second highest opening for Ranbir Kapoor across overseas markets. The film has clocked the highest opening weekend ever for Ranbir. The movie has also become the third highest opening weekend of the year in the overseas markets after "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan".
