The makers of "Talvar", which stars Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi in the lead roles, have released the first official trailer of the film.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie is based on the 2008 Aarushi Talwar-Hemraj murder case, in which the 14-year-old victim's parents were convicted of committing twin murders.

Now, Meghna Gulzar has tried to portray the real-life story on celluloid and the trailer of "Talvar" certainly looks impressive. The 2-minute-40-second-long trailer shows all the possible angles in the murder case and how different investigating teams come up with different version of the truth.

Irrfan Khan plays the role of an investigating officer, while Neeraj Kabi and Konkona Sen Sharma portray the roles of Aarushi's parents. The trailer starts with the victim's parents observing the last rites of their daughter and then follows the lengthy police investigation.

Aarushi Talwar and the family's 45-year-old domestic help Hemraj Banjade were found murdered at their Noida home in 2008 and the girl's parents, Rajesh Talwar and Nupur Talwar, were convicted following a controversial investigation and trial.

Written by Vishal Bhardwaj, "Talvar" shows the convicted parents may not be guilty after all. The film is slated to release on 2 October.
