Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer "Talvar", which was released along with "Singh Is Bliing" (Singh Is Bling), had a good first week run at the domestic box office.

The film, directed by Meghna Gulzar, maintained a strong hold at the collection windows during weekdays. The business remained consistent after its opening weekend run.

"#Talvar had VERY GOOD trending on weekdays. Biz remained consistent from Mon to Thu thanks to strong word of mouth... contd," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"#Talvar Thu pre 50 lacs, Fri 2.50 cr, Sat 2.70 cr, Sun 3.30 cr, Mon 1.60 cr, Tue 1.65 cr, Wed 1.65 cr, Thu 1.65 cr. Total: ₹ 15.55 cr," he added.

"Talvar", which is based on the 2008 Aarushi Talwar murder case, had a slow start at the box office. But the occupancy increased during the weekends after it received positive reviews from critics and audiences.

With its first week box office collection, "Talvar" has shattered the records of Abhishek Bachchan's "All Is Well". Abhishek's film minted Rs 11.92 crore in its first week, while "Talvar" minted Rs 15.55 crore.

"Talvar" will continue its good run at the box office even in its second week. Made on an estimated budget of Rs 16 crore, "Talvar" has turned out to be a profitable venture for the makers.

Directed by Meghna, the film features Irrfan as a CBI inspector, while Konkona and Neeraj Kabi play Shruti Tandon's (based on Aarushi Talwar) parents.
