Reema Kagti's second directorial venture "Talaash: The Answer Lies Within," starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in the lead roles, opened to tremendous response on the first day of its release.
"Talaash," Aamir Khan's much awaited movie, was released on Friday and garnered positive reviews from film critics and audiences. The opening day collection was amazing at both at domestic and overseas box offices.
The movie was released on non-holiday Friday in 2500+ screens in India and 520 screens overseas. In India, the movie raked in Rs 14.52 crore on the first day.
"Talaash figures are pouring in. A fantastic escalation has been witnessed in India and Overseas biz," trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted on Saturday.
"INDIA: #Talaash Fri Rs 14.52 cr nett. Fantastic growth in evening and night shows," he said.
In the UK, the film had a very good start and raked in Rs 93.33 lakh. In Australia, it witnessed a massive jump on Friday and collected Rs 48.43 lakh and in New Zealand it collected Rs 12.72 lakh.

The film was expected to break Shahrukh Khan's "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" first day collection at the domestic business centres, but it failed to do so. "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" collected Rs 15.23 crore on the opening day in India.
The advance booking of the film also opened to tremendous responses in India. The crime thriller is jointly produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Excel Entertainment.
Meanwhile, Aamir, Reema and others have requested movie buffs who have watched the film not to reveal the suspense.
