The long-rumoured rugged all-weather Galaxy S6 Active variant will reportedly be released by Samsung soon.
Just hours ago, American network carrier AT&T (via Twitter) posted a teaser image of a woman in her jogging gear holding a smartphone with the caption reading, "Only one thing is missing from your workout. It's almost time to activate your full power." This has led many to believe that the launch of Galaxy S6 Active is just around the corner.
Earlier this week, prolific Twitter spy @evleaks (aka Evan Blass) leaked the promotional pictures of Galaxy S6 Active, showing AT&T's engraving on the rear side, and hence giving credibility to the speculations of the existence of the rugged Samsung smartphone.
It is said that Galaxy S6 Active will be sold exclusively via the afore-mentioned network carrier in the USA.
Galaxy S6 Active's USP is that it will boast Ingress Protection rating of IP68, that means users can take the phone for a little dip in the swimming pool (freshwater, not salty sea/ocean) and take pictures for close to 30 minutes under water up to five feet. Another notable upgrade is that it will be powered by a massive 3,500mAh battery. [Note: Original S6 and S6 edge pack 2,600mAh cell]
As for other specifications are concerned, the smartphone is expected to feature 5.1-inch super AMOLED QHD screen with Gorilla Glass 4 shield, Android Lollipop OS, Samsung's proprietary 64-bit class 14nm Exynos 7420 CPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory, 16mp camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), and a 5mp snapper on the front.
Though Samsung is yet to respond to the speculations of Galaxy S6 Active, we believe that the company will release the rugged variant as the South Korean company has been following this business model of churning out multiple variants of the flagship devices in previous iterations of Galaxy S series in different markets.
Just recently, Samsung launched Marvel Avenger series limited edition Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man in select markets of Asia. We believe Galaxy S6 Active will not be the last in the S6 series and won't be a surprise if Samsung announces two more models S6 Neo and S6 Mini later in the year.
Expected Specifications of Galaxy S6 Active:

|Processor||64-bit class 14nanometer Samsung Exynos 7420 CPU|
|Add-ons||IP68 Water-and-dust proof certifications, finger-print sensor and other standard connectivity features seen in original Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge models|
