In a horrific road accident in Sydney, eight vehicles crashed on Monday morning, killing two men and injuring four people, including children.

The high-impact accident occurred at an intersection of Concord Road in Rhodes when seven cars and a truck collided on Monday.

The debris from the accident was scattered around several hundred meters, as per reports.

"It's quite horrific," Detective Inspector Adam Powderly said about the incident, 7 News reported.

Two four-year-old children travelling in separate cars were injured and taken to the hospital.

One man who was trapped in the wreckage is in a serious condition.

"It was obviously a high impact, which has left a large amount of debris and devastation," the inspector said.
