Though Swipe is not quite a familiar name among the online buyers, the homegrown smartphone and tablet brand has a strong foothold in the offline market. To improve its online presence, Swipe has launched an online only budget smartphone, dubbed Swipe Elite. On a positive note, the smartphone sold out in no time in its first online sale on Tuesday.

The company has not revealed the number of units sold in the first online sale. For Elite, Swipe has tied up with Indian online retailer Flipkart.

Swipe Elite comes with the latest OS Android 5.0 Lollipop and features Dual-SIM Support, GPS, and Proximity Sensor. Elite also offers essential connectivity, like 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, HSPA + EDGE and the OTG support.

Powered by a 1.3GHz True Quad-Core Processor, Elite packs 2GB RAM and 16GB on-board memory, with an expandable memory of up to 32 GB through SD Card.

It sports a 5-inch high definition IPS display (720x1280) with Vi-Di Technology. Swipe Elite boasts a 13 MP rear camera and a 8MP front snapper.

It is also supported by a "Super Charge" technology powered by 2,500 mAh battery keeping the phone extremely slim. Swipe Elite comes at an affordable price of Rs 5,999.

For the price, Swipe Elite will have to compete with Xiaomi Redmi 2, Lenovo A6000, Micromax Canvas Spark, Moto E, Huawei Honor Bee and many more.
