Suzuki India Aims to Sell 100,000 Gixxers; Gixxer SF Bookings, Availability and More

Suzuki Motorcycle India has aggressive plans for the Indian market in coming months. The company, which recently launched the fully-faired version of Gixxer 155, has confirmed that the year will also see the launch of two new sports bike GSX-S1000 and S1000F.

Now Autocar professional reports that Suzuki aims to sell 100,000 units of its Gixxer siblings in India within 12 months of the first Gixxer launch. Suzuki launched its naked Gixxer 155 in September last year and has sold 45,000 units within six months of its entry into the market. With the launch of new Gixxer SF, the company hopes to expand its reach in the market.

Gixxer SF, a street sportbike is powered by the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out maximum power output of 14.6bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 14Nm at 6,000rpm. Seated on a wheelbase of 1,330 mm, Suzuki Gixxer SF measures 2,050 mm in length, 785 mm in width and 1,035 mm in height. The bike has a kerb weight of 139kg and gets telescopic forks up front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear.

As for styling, Gixxer SF looks similar to its sibling Gixxer 155 except for the full-front fairing. The new Gixxer houses features like LED tail lamps, clear-lens indicators and digital instrument cluster.

Priced at ₹83,439 (ex-showroom, Delhi), Gixxer SF is available in available in three colours -- Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl Mirage White.
