Suzuki has revealed the price details of its upcoming Gixxer bike in India ahead of its expected launch in September.
The on-road prices of Suzuki's new offering in the 150cc segment, Gixxer is available on the company's website along with the technical specifications. The bike has been priced at ₹78,909 (on-road Delhi), while in Chennai and Bangalore, the Gixxer gets a price tag of ₹82,458 and ₹87,074 respectively. Booking for the Gixxer is underway in the country with a down payment of ₹5,000 and going by the rumours the bike will hit Indian roads in early September.
On the mechanical front, the new Gixxer packs 154.9 cc 4-stroke single cylinder air cooled engine, which can pump out a power of 14.8 PS @ 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 14 Nm @ 6000 rpm under the hood. The engine comes coupled to 5 speed manual transmission and the bike comes with SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology, which would help the Gixxer to deliver better performance and fuel efficiency. The well designed all- digital dashboard of the Gixxer is a noteworthy feature of the bike and its kerb weight stands at 135 kg.
Gixxer, which made its first appearance at Delhi Auto Expo 2014, has been in the news for quite some time now. Seated on a wheelbase of 1,330 mm, the bike measures 2,050 mm in length, 785 mm in width and 1,030 mm in height and Gixxer boasts a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres. It features telescopic forks at the front and single-shock suspension with swing-arm at the rear.
The front tyre of the new Gixxer measures 100/80-17, while the one at rear side measures 140/60R-17. The bike comes in five colour options- grey, red, black, blue and white and will be rivalling Yamaha FZ-S, Hero Xtreme , Apache RTR and Honda CB Trigger in the subcontinent market.
