The year 2016 seems to be a year of breakups for celebrities. After Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli, Parineeti Chopra-Maneesh Sharma, another couple has reportedly ended their relationship.

Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokande, who were in a serious relationship for over six years, have reportedly parted ways. According to a report in DNA, while the couple had always been spotted together at events, Ankita's absence from Sushant's birthday bash sparked off rumors of split.

The couple, who fell in love on the sets of their Television show "Pavitra Rishta," had been living together for a few years until recently. Apparently, Sushant, who will soon be seen in "M.S. Dhoni : The Untold Story," has moved out of their love nest, while the TV actress still stays at the same house.

Ironically, both Sushant and Ankita, who have never shied away from expressing their love for each other on social media, had been vocal about their plans to get married in December this year. However, there are chances that the couple may sort out their differences. "Of course it is a possibility. they have known each other for over a decade," a source told the daily.

The report stated that the reason for the breakup was Sushant's alleged closeness with Parineeti, who recently broke up with director Maneesh. Both Sushant and Parineeti had worked together in "Sudh Desi Romance" and are likely to share the screen space once again in Homi Adajania's next. While the "Kai Po Che" actor has already given his nod to the film, Parineeti is likely to replace Kangana Ranaut, who had to turn down the film owing to lack of available dates.

Interestingly, Parineeti recently shared an adorable picture of her and Sushant on Instagram. "An episode of Shenanigans with Sushant. Overacting mandatory. @sushantsinghrajput," she captioned the picture.

Not just Bollywood, TV celebs too have shocked their fans with their breakup news this year. Kritika Kamra-Siddharth Bijpuria, Sara Khan-Rishabh Tandon, Anas Rashid-Rati Pandey and Ravi Bhatia-Heena Parmar are some of the couples who have called it quits.
