With such humongous collection, Super Singh has emerged as the highest opener ever in Punjabi film industry, shattering the record of Diljit's previous film Sardaar Ji 2 (Rs 2.75 crores).

The regional film is expected to witness growth in the first week and break a few more records, although it will face a major obstacle on first Sunday -- the ICC Champions Trophy final match between India and Pakistan.

Also starring Sonam Bajwa, Super Singh is based on Punjabi villager Lovely Singh (Diljit), who moves to Canada for better prospects but soon realises that he has been blessed with super powers when some goons try to rob him of his belongings. Using his special powers, Lovely eradicates hatred and spreads love and happiness.
