After several months of anticipation, the makers of Salman Khan starrer "Sultan" finally zeroed in on Anushka Sharma as the film's leading lady.
While Salman has been shooting for the film rigorously for the past few months, Anushka joined the team just on Thursday. The actress posted a picture from her first day of shoot on her Instagram account. In the picture, Anushka, dressed in white, is seen getting ready for the shoot.
This is the first time Anushka has been paired opposite Salman. The actress has earlier worked with Shah Rukh Khan in "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" and "Jab Tak Hai Jaan", and with Aamir Khan in "PK".
Produced by Aditya Chopra and written as well as directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, "Sultan" is based on the life of a wrestler and the film has extensively been shot in Karjat.
The "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" actor will be seen playing a 40-year-old wrestler and he is undergoing a strict physical regimen to get into the skin of the character. He is being trained in mixed martial arts by Hollywood action director Larnell Stovall and his team.
The Salman-Anushka starrer, "Sultan", is slated to be released on Eid 2016.
However, soon after Anushka's photo surfaced, Salman's fans started demanding "Sultan" poster on Twitter. Check out some of the tweets of fans:
