India might have been below par in their opening match against Denmark in the Sudirman Cup, but the players, including the singles and doubles team, looked in great form to beat Indonesia on Tuesday to keep the quarterfinals hopes alive.

Things started on a bright note for India on Tuesday, with the mixed doubles team featuring Ashwini Ponnappa and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy winning their first match. Kidambi Srikanth raised the hopes of India in the men's singles, defeating Jonatan Christie in straight games.

All eyes were on the men's doubles pair of Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who could have clinched the tie for India, but it was not to be. They lost the match in straight games, putting pressure on PV Sindhu in the women's singles.

Sindhu, who was the lone Indian player to win on Monday, looked in scintillating form, against a tricky opponent in the form of Fitriani Fitriani. The Indonesian was outclassed in the first game of the tie. Despite a good fight from Fitriani in the second game, it was Sindhu, who closed out the match in straight games, winning 21-8, 21-19.

India will count on Denmark to defeat Indonesia in their last group match to reach the quarterfinals.
