The synopsis of the episode states that a rebel mission, led by a significantly more powerful Ezra, goes wrong and hence, Kanan returns to help him and rest of the Ghost crew. In the meanwhile, Grand Admiral Thrawn has been summoned by the Empire to put an end to the Ghost crew once and for all.

The highlight of the episode will be the debut of Thrawn, who is one of the iconic Star Wars characters and is known as an imperial commander in Star Wars Legends. Thrawn has fought against other iconic Star Wars heroes like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. Since the franchise was taken over by Disney, the Legends storyline was discontinued and so was the character of Thrawn. However, he is all set to return with Rebels.

First introduced in 1991 in the novel, Heir to the Empire, by Timothy Zahn, Thrawn first appeared in the events that happened in the aftermath of Return of the Jedi. He is a member of the Chiss species and is considered a tactical genius among the Empire.

The bio of Thrawn reads:

"As one of the few high-ranking Imperials left alive after the Battle of Endor, Thrawn was poised to take charge...Thrawn was recruited by Emperor Palpatine for the Empire, where he battled xenophobia on his way to the top. Thrawn's full name is Mitth'raw'nuruodo, but it was shortened for both the Empire and, presumably, the reader."

Though not much is known of Thrawn's role in the upcoming episodes, fans will get to see a thrilling side of the story in the third season of Rebels.
