The recently-held Star Parivaar Awards 2016 ceremony, which was a star-studded affair with several television celebrities making glamorous appearances, was a big moment for the team of "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein," since the show bagged the maximum number of trophies. But surprisingly, the show's lead actor Karan Patel was absent from the event.

According to a Bollywood Life report, the entire team of "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein," including Divyanka Tripathi, Shireen Mirza, Ruhaanika Dhawan and Aditi Bhatia, had planned for a grand entry together but failed to do so because of Karan, who reportedly got busy with some important work. After waiting for Karan for quite a long time, the team reportedly dispersed and walked the red carpet separately. Karan's wife, Ankita Karan Patel (Ankita Bhargava), however, made up for his absence.

It was further added in the report that Karan had also refused a photo shoot with his "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" team, as required during the award ceremony.

Karan had made news at last year's Star Parivaar Awards too, when it was reported that the actor, who admires Shah Rukh Khan, imitated the Bollywood superstar. The small screen actor had appeared on the stage sporting a black shirt, a pony tail and spectacles, resembling the superstar. Karan, however, had denied the reports saying that it was a mere coincidence.

Meanwhile, Divyanka looked stunning in a blue attire and bagged six trophies at the Star Parivaar Awards 2016, some of which she shared with her on-screen husband Karan. Ashish Sharma aka Ram of "Siya Ke Ram," Varun Badola aka Raghav Srivastav of "Mere Angne Mein," and Anita Hassanandani aka Shagun of "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" also walked away with trophies. Star Parivaar Awards 2016 was held on Wednesday, April 27, at the National Sports Club of India Complex in Worli, Mumbai.
