The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared the much-delayed Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier-I results 2016 on Tuesday. It was earlier reported that the results would be announced on October 7 but was postponed over some issues.

The commission conducted a re-examination for one Shift, i.e., the Second Shift (Batch-II) of the CGLE Tier-I which was held at 4.15 pm – 5.30 pm on August 27, 2016, citing administrative reasons. This led to the delay in the declaration of SSC CGL Tier-I results 2016.

The SSC CGL 2016 examination was conducted from August 27 to September 11 via online at about 415 venues in 96 cities throughout the country, while it was conducted at Srinagar on September 25.

About 14.99 lakh out of 38.04 lakh candidates, who registered for the examination, appeared for the exam. Those who pass the Tier-1 will have to write CGL Tier-II examination to be held tentatively between November 30 and December 2.

Successful candidates will be recruited for the post of assistant section officer, inspector, income tax inspector, enforcement officer, sub-inspector, divisional accountant, assistant audit officer and several others under group B and C categories.
