It was reported that the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) would declare the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier-I result 2016 on October 7, but it didn't happen. Now, the commission has officially confirmed that the results will be announced next month.

It appears like the commission was forced to delay the announcement of the SSC CGL 2016 results after an issue cropped up. The commission said in a statement that it has decided to conduct a re-examination for a shift - the Second Shift (Batch-II) of the CGLE Tier-I which was held at 4.15 pm – 5.30 pm on August 27, citing administrative reasons.

The commission said that re-examination will be conducted only for those candidates who had appeared in Batch-II on August 27 and the tentative date for re-examination is October 27. It said the tentative date for declaration of CGL Tier-I 2016 results is November 8, and tentative date for CGL Tier-II examination is from November 30 to December 2.

The SSC conducted the CGL 2016 examination from August 27 to September 11 via online at about 415 venues in 96 cities throughout the country, while it was conducted at Srinagar on September 25. About 38.04 lakh candidates registered for the examination, and about 14.99 lakh actually appeared for it.

Candidates can check the SSC CGL 2016 Tier-I results at the commission's official website ssc.nic.in. Follow the 'SSC CGL Tier 1 Results' link on the site and fill the required details before pressing the submit button to know the results.

The successful candidates will be recruited for posts like assistant section officer, inspector, income tax inspector, enforcement officer, sub-inspector, divisional accountant, assistant audit officer and several others under group B and C categories.
