Sri Lanka and England have announced their respective ODI squads for the forthcoming series. England have also announced a T20 squad for the one-off T20 match against the same opposition.

Milinda Siriwarda has been left out of the Sri Lanka squad for the ODI series against Ireland and England. After a promising start to his limited-overs career, he could not sustain that form.

Dimuth Karunaratne, Kaushal Silva, Niroshan Dickwella and Dilruwan Perera will also fly back to Sri Lanka as they are not a part of the limited-overs squad.

Sri Lanka Cricket had already announced that five players will be joining the ODI squad -- Farveez Maharoof, Upul Tharanga, Seekkuge Prasanna, Danushka Gunathilaka and Suraj Randiv.

Meanwhile, England have decided to rest Alex Hales, Joe Root and Moeen Ali, all part of the ODI squad, for the one-off T20 game against Sri Lanka.

ECB selectors have also named two new players for the T20 side -- Tymal Mills and Dawid Malan. Mills is said to be one of the fastest bowlers in the domestic circuit in England.

"The guy can bowl quickly. It's a shame his back has robbed him of first-class cricket, but he seems to have thrown all his efforts into becoming a really skillful one-day bowler. He's obviously worked on his skills: he can change-up from a 93mph thunderbolt to a slower ball. There's no substitute for pace. I'll be very excited to watch him bowl," England Test captain Alastair Cook was quoted as saying by Cricinfo.

Middlesex batsman Malan was rewarded with a place in the England T20 squad after his impressive show against Pakistan A in UAE. He is likely to open the innings for England along with Jason Roy.
