Badminton Association of India proposes life ban on ace shuttler Jwala Gutta

Lucknow/Bangalore/Hyderabad, Oct 06 (ANI): The Disciplinary Committee of the Badminton Association of India (BAI) suggested lifetime ban on ace woman shuttlecock player Jwala Gutta. The BAI cited a ruckus during the recent Indian Badminton league match as the reason for this proposed ban. Recently during a match in the Indian Badminton League (IBL) on August 25, Gutta had delayed the match which was being witnessed live across the world. However, President of BAI, Akhilesh Das Gupta said that if Gutta gave an unconditional apology the matter could be reconsidered, but at the moment the ban had only been recommended and not enforced. Yuvraj Singh cheers return to national team after ailment

Kolkata, Oct 02 (ANI): India's explosive batsman, Yuvraj Singh, who had recovered from Cancer, welcomed his comeback into the 15-member national squad against team Australia after a lull of about 10 months at the international cricket pitch. Lalit Modi banned for life by BCCI

New Delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): The BCCI in its Special General Meeting in Chennai slapped the former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi with a lifetime ban, barring him from holding any position in Indian cricket. Modi was found guilty on eight charges of "indiscipline and misconduct". Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court had dismissed Modi's plea for stay on the BCCI meet. A bench headed by Justice G S Singhvi, before whom the matter was mentioned for urgent hearing, dismissed Modi's plea. Modi had approached the apex court challenging the order of the Delhi high court which had on Tuesday allowed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to hold the meeting. Sep 25, 2013
