You think "Spider-Man 3" was crammed with villains? Wait till you hear what was initially planned for the shelved fourth instalment of Sam Raimi's Spidey film.

According to illustrator, writer and storyteller Jeffrey Henderson, who recently released some "Spider-Man 4" concept art, the film was suppose to feature several Spidey villains including "C and D- list villains that we knew would never be used as main antagonists: Mysterio, the Shocker, the Prowler, the old school-onesie-wearing version of the Rhino, maybe even the Stilt Man, etc." (via io9)

The main villain would still be Vulture and Henderson revealed that the the director had some pretty cool ideas about the character that John Malkovich was set to play.

"The thing we kept coming back to was that, as a character, everyone was going to dismiss the Vulture as just an old guy in a silly green suit. So we wanted to go the opposite way and really make him the most fearsome and formidable adversary that Spider-Man had faced in the series."

Well, it sure sounds like fans missed out on something fun there. However, Vulture is rumoured to be the villain for Marvel's upcoming solo Spidey flick -- "Spider-Man: Homecoming" -- with Michael Keaton in talks to play the villain. The film is slated to release on July 7, 2017.
