Akshay Kumar's recent released film "Special 26" topped the box office chart in the second week as well despite new releases.

On account of a good storyline, impressive star cast, and rave reviews, Neeraj Pandey's directorial film dominated the domestic box office in its second week by earning approximately ₹18 crores.

The movie performed well at multiplexes in urban centres, especially in Delhi NCR, East Punjab and the Mysore circuit.

The grand total of "Special 26" after two weeks stands at approximately ₹61 crore in India, according to trade anaylst and film critic Taran Adarsh.

The film had a dull opening at the box office, but positive word of mouth helped the business of the film. It was released along with 3D dance film "ABCD: Any Body Can Dance". In spite of its release across a limited number of screens, the film dominated the first and second week in India.

Meanwhile, Akshay's recent film is doing better than his last release "Khiladi 786" in India. The film, which marks Akshay's comeback as "Khiladi", collected approximately ₹17.5 crore in the second week.

Action comedy film "Khiladi 786" opened to negative reviews from critics, while "Special 26" received positive reviews for its good content.

The grand total of "Khiladi 786" is ₹70 crore which is slightly better than "Special 26".

"Special 26" is based on a real-life story of con artists who executed an income tax raid while posing as CBI officers in the 1980s. The film also features Kajal Agarwal, Jimmy Shergill, Manoj Bajpai, Anupam Kher and Divya Dutta in important roles.
