Sony 'Odin' Smartphone to Debut as 'Xperia X'Reuters

The Sony Yuga is likely to debut at the CES 2013 with a new and market friendly title, Xperia Z.

According to GSMArena, Sony's much anticipated 5-inch HD display and 1080p high end device, the C660X Xperia Yuga, could also come with IP57 certification for dust and water resistance.

"Sony's flagship for next year, the C660X Xperia Yuga, is bound to get a more market-friendly name before launch and rumor has it that it will be Xperia Z. The phone will also have IP certification for dust and water resistance and a low-reflectivity screen," reported GSMArena.

Rumors about Sony's upcoming smartphone have been rife for quite some time. According to the earlier leaked information, Xperia Z likely to boasts a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution along with a compact slim body measuring 139 x 71 x 7.9mm.The device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core processor and will use Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Operating System. Other rumored features include 12Megapixel P/13MegaPixel rear camera with HD quality and 3GB of RAM. Xperia Z might also get Sony's OptiContrast technology which is used to reduce the onscreen reflection of televisions. It would also pack 128GB of built-in memory and a battery of 3000 mAh along with a micro SD card slot.

The Chinese manufacturer ZTE is also rumored to showcase its 5-inch full-HD Grand S smartpone at CES 2013 in Las Vegas. The South Korean tech giant Samsung is also apparently prepping a full HD smartphone for the next year's release.
