Sony surprised everybody by launching Xperia Z4, the successor to its Xperia Z3, exclusively in Japan. Even as questions were being raised on the global release of the handset, Sony unveiled Xperia Z3+ as its 2015 flagship for the rest of the world.

Though the mystery around the availability of Xperia Z3+ remained unresolved, retailers in different countries have started listing the device up for pre-orders, enlightening us with precise details about price and availability.

Sony is yet to confirm the pricing of the handset for different markets, but a detailed research from Phone Arena reveals the price of Xperia Z3+.

Retailers' listing of the Xperia Z3+ shows the handset won't come cheap.

In the UK, the handset is likely to cost up to £550 ($836/Rs. 53,000), while in the rest of Europe, Sony Xperia Z3+ is expected to cost around €699 ($764/Rs. 49,000). Of course, these are not official prices, but they surely give an approximate value.

Different retailers in the UK have listed the Xperia Z3+ for pre-orders. Amazon UK has the handset for £549.99 ($836/Rs. 53,000) while Clove and Mobile Fun listing carry a price tag of £549 ($835). Another retailer Handtec is charging £545.99 ($830) for the Xperia Z3+.

An Italing retail website says the Xperia Z3+ will be available between 22 and 26 June for €699 (approximately Rs. 48,750), NDTV reported.

With such price tags, Sony Xperia Z3+ will face stiff competition from rivals such as Apple, Samsung and LG.

The 2015 flagship received modest upgrades compared to its predecessor. Powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB RAM, the Xperia Z3+ follows the company's signature metallic unibody styling. The handset measures 5.2 inches diagonally with Full HD resolution display.

On the camera side, Sony retained the 20.7-megapixel primary shooter but with some upgraded sensors. There's also a 5MP front snapper with Exmor R BSI sensor, an impressive upgrade from Xperia Z3's 2.2MP shooter. The handset comes with 32GB onboard storage with microSD card expansion and packs a 2,930mAh battery.
