For last few months, we have been hearing that Sony is prepping a new flagship model Xperia Z2 (aka Sirius). Now a new report has surfaced that the Japanese firm is also working on an affordable handset Xperia G.

Twitter tipster, @ViziLeaks has posted the alleged snapshot of Xperia G placed below the recently launched high-end handset, Xperia Z1 Mini. In the picture, the two devices look almost identical in terms of outer contour design, and the only difference is that the Xperia G features camera (with LED flash) at the centre (top), unlike its premium sibling, which houses a camera at the top-left corner. Sony Xperia G reportedly flaunts a 4.8-inch display (expect HD: 720x1280p resolution), 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory, 8.0-megapixel camera (with LED flash) and support LTE connectivity. Since the phone is touted to be a mid-range phone, it will not boast of the IP based water-resistant certifications like we see in all the high-end Xperia phones.

By the looks of the specifications, Sony might use Xperia G as a competitor to Motorola's recently launched Moto G. In India, this feature-rich mid-range smartphone received an overwhelming response from the public. The reaction was such that the smartphone stocks ran out within minutes (15 minutes, to be precise) after going on sale at an online store.
