The much-speculated Sony's camera-centric smartphone Honami aka Xperia Z1 will be reportedly launched in India around mid-September.
Technology website, BGR citing sources claimed that Sony's upcoming smartphone Xperia Z1, which will be unveiled globally on 4 September, will debut in India at an event in New Delhi on 18 September. It also revealed that the Japanese company would rope in popular Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif as their brand ambassador to promote the new Xperia device.
As far as its price is concerned, Sony fans will be disappointed to hear that the new Xperia phone might come with a hefty price-tag of around ₹50,000. If the Indian Rupee continues to tumble against the Dollar, be ready to shell out more.
Sony Xperia Z1 will reportedly sport a 5.0-inch full HD (1920x1080p) Triluminos display boasting innovative 'X-Reality for Mobiles' screen technology and run on Android mobile OS v4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Under the hood, the new smartphone will pack a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor with Adreno 330 graphics engine and house 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory with options of storage expansion via microSD card slot.
The main attraction of Xperia Z1 is its camera specification. The smartphone reportedly flaunts an amazing 20.7-megapixel camera boasting company's exclusive patented camera technologies - Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processor, and Sony G-lens. That's not all; photography aficionados would be thrilled to know that the Sony smartphone will have the capability to record videos in 4K (3840x2160p) ultra HD resolution video which is twice that of full HD (1920x1080p) quality.
Other mentionable features include water resistant and dust proof IP55/IP58 certifications, NFC and high-capacity 3000 mAh battery.
Sony has confirmed the launch of its new phone - Xperia Z1 - on 4 September by releasing the official teaser video with tag line - " The best of Sony is about to get even better"
