The producers of historical shows like "Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap" and "Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat" are gearing up to bring out yet another period drama, this time based on the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. While several talented actors have been signed up for the show, latest reports say that Sonia Singh will be playing a pivotal role on the historical drama.

According to a Tellychakkar.com report, Sonia, who was last seen on "Swaragini" as Urvashi, has been finalised to play the antagonist on the show. No confirmation, however, has been made by the makers or the actress regarding this.

Besides Sonia, Eijaz Khan, who was last seen on & TV's "Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai," and Sneha Wagh of "Ek Veer Ki Ardaas..Veera" fame have been approached to play key roles on the show. Also, veteran actress Anuradha Patel is likely to play the role of dai maa in the series.

Recent reports had also revealed that Bollywood actor Chandrachur Singh had been signed up to play the role of a friend of Ranjit Singh's grandfather, Charat Singh.

"Chandrachur will play the close friend of Ranjit Singh's grand father Charat Singh. He will be a positive character," a source had told Tellychakkar.com. With this historical drama, Chandrachur will be making his debut on the small screen.
