Song Joong Ki turns 31; Descendants Of The Sun star celebrating birthday with rumoured girlfriend Song Hye Kyo?

Descendants Of The Sun actor Song Joong Ki will be celebrating his 31st birthday on Monday, 19 September, and speculations are rife that he will be spending his special day with his rumoured girlfriend Song Hye Kyo.

Romance rumours have been plaguing Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo ever since they starred together in Korean military drama Descendants Of The Sun. They played onscreen lovers Captain Yoo Shi Jin and Doctor Kang Mo Yeon and shortly after filming wrapped up, the duo was reportedly spotted in New York. But at the time their agencies denied the possibility of a romantic angle, saying Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo were just friends.

Sadly, this hasn't prevented media outlets from speculating about a romance. New reports even claim that Song Joong Ki will be popping the question to his rumoured girlfriend on his birthday.

Even if the duo is dating, it is highly unlikely they will confirm their relationship, as Song Joong Ki had earlier said that he does not like to discuss his love life. "My dating style is not that special. But I have no plans to go public if I get into a relationship. I will do my best to preserve the emotion for the person that I like but I also want to keep it secret for that person," he told Harper's Bazaar.

The couple once again set tongues wagging during the Seoul Drama Awards when Song Joong Ki mentioned the coffee truck Song Hye Kyo sent to the Battleship Island set as a gift. "She not only sent a coffee truck, she sent a snack truck too. She's the best partner," he commented.
