Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor who was trending on social media for the "Dheere Dheere Se" song video some days back, started trending on Twitter on Tuesday for not so pleasant reasons.

The "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" actress had expressed her discontent on the four-day ban on slaughter and sale of meat in Mumbai on Twitter. Soon, she was trolled for the use of certain terms in her tweet.

Sonam had tweeted "Our country is going to remain a 3rd world nation because of the intolerant misogynistic close minded few."

However, she was soon trolled for the use of terms like "misogynistic" and "close minded" and several jokes on the fashionista started flooding Twitter.

Several tweets addressed the diva as "bimbo" and suggested her to refer to a dictionary before tweeting anything as they made jokes on the actress's English language skills.

Initially, the actress tried to convince the Twitteratis that her tweet was not exclusively in regard to the meat ban but on the "general mentality" of Indian people. Sonam also replied individually to some of the tweets which made fun of her.

Sonam's timeline was soon flooded with similar trolls and the actress made a couple of fresh tweets to make her point clear.

Apparently, she was more hurt by the trolling tweets as most of the women folk were targeting her.

Nevertheless, there were some who stood by Sonam and suggested her not to pay heed to such "bullies".
