Sonam Kapoor isn't the one to mince words. The leading lady is one of the few in the Hindi film industry who tell it like it is.

In a recently-published interview with India.com, Kapoor was asked why hasn't she worked with Shah Rukh Khan yet, to which she said that the superstar probably doesn't want to share screen space with her because there were quite a few opportunities that could bring them together but haven't.

"There have been so many opportunities where I could have worked with him but nothing materialised. I wanted to work with him and I reached out to him as well. But I never got the opportunity. I guess it will happen whenever he feels like working with me," the entertainment portal quoted Kapoor as saying.

The Neerja star also said that the Hindi film industry is such that the leading man of a film gets to decide the actress, so a movie with Khan will happen when he wants it to.

"What happens in the film industry is that an actor decides whether an actress should do a film with him or not. So when he (SRK) wants to work with me, it will happen but I don't think he's wanted to work with me till now," she elaborated.

By opportunity, does the actress mean Aanand L Rai's as-yet-untitled film with Khan? Earlier this year, reports had suggested that either Kapoor or Alia Bhatt will fill up one of the two slots available in the film as the female lead. The filmmaker was said to have spoken to Bhatt and Kapoor, briefed them about the part and was to finalise the casting soon.

Meanwhile, Khan has often said he doesn't meddle with the casting decisions of a film.
